Norway Dock
Norway Dock
Norway Dock is a small basin connected to Greenland Dock by a short cutting. The Dock is part of the Surrey Dock complex, which closed in 1969. The Dock is now a private residential development of detached houses, each on its own little island. The dock has been extensively landscaped.
Surrey Commercial Docks
The Surrey Commercial Docks were a large group of docks in Rotherhithe on the south bank of the Thames in London. The docks operated from 1696 to 1969. Many of the dock basins were named after the destination of the boats serviced by them, such as Greenland Dock, Norway Dock, Russia Dock and Canada Dock. Most were subsequently filled in and redeveloped for residential housing, and the area is now known as Surrey Quays.
