A carefully planted cherry tree is looking a bit windblown in this open landscape.
I don't recognize the stuff behind. It looks like reeds, except we're on a dry upland. It's some sort of giant, coarse grass.
Update:- Thanks to Fly, who tells me it's Elephant Grass, aka Miscanthus.
When it's cut and dried it can be used as fuel.
