Ironhouse bastle
Ironhouse bastle
Pevsner says "Ironhouse is ruinous but particularly impressive. The gable-end walls stand to c. 6 metres (20 ft); the side walls are not so high, but the masonry is =very massive, and round about the bastle there are enclosure walls of equally massive stone work.

The location of the bastle is shown in NY9398 : Ironhouse bastle, west of High Shaw and NY9398 : Ironhouse bastle, west of High Shaw (2).
