Old railway bridge over the Lyne Water
The Symington, Biggar and Broughton railway was extended to Peebles in 1860; this part of the line was finally closed in 1954. The trackbed is currently informally used as a footpath; there are plans to upgrade it for use as a cycle path with easier access than currently provided by the steep flight of steps.
