Dry & fine working conditions
Costed at more than 1.5 million, work has been approved by Hampshire County Council to improve pedestrian access to Basingstoke town centre.
A new shared-use pedestrian cycle path will be built (2013) from Victory roundabout up to Chapel Hill roundabout. It will be cut into the embankment below the Winterthur offices.
The plan is to remove the subway connecting Winterthur Way to The Anvil entrance, and replace with a signal-controlled pedestrian crossing between The Malls car park exit ramp and the Chapel Hill roundabout. (Text from council website - 2013).
