The East Manchester Metrolink extension opened to Ashton-under-Lyne on 9th October 2013. The first section of the East Manchester extension (3.9 miles, 8 stops, between Manchester Piccadilly and Droylsden) had opened earlier in the year (February).
The later extension from Droylsden to Ashton-under-Lyne added a further 2.1 miles and 4 new stops to the route. These new stops are located at Audenshaw, Ashton Moss, Ashton West and Ashton-under-Lyne with Park and Ride sites for Metrolink passengers at Ashton Moss and Ashton West.
This poster, which appeared at all the new stops (this one was at Ashton Moss) seems to be an attempt at a pun on the name “Ashton-Under-Lyne”.
