Ashton Town Hall was built in 1840 and extended in 1878. The building now hosts the "Museum of the Manchesters", a museum devoted the Manchester Regiment*. It is a Grade II Listed Building (English Heritage ID:212666 LinkExternal link British Listed Buildings).

* Note the two Turkish field guns at the top of the Town Hall Steps. These were captured at Candia during the occupation of the Island of Crete in 1897-8 and presented to the Trustees of The Manchester Regiment in 2002.
