One of the displays at the Greater Manchester Fire Service Museum LinkExternal link (Archive LinkExternal link ) in the yard behind SD8912 : Rochdale Fire Station.

PDK 717 is a Dennis Fire Engine with a 125ft Metz turntable ladder, one of the tallest post-war British turntable ladders. It was delivered new to Rochdale County Borough Fire Brigade in 1957 and operated in the area until withdrawn from operational service in 1976.

The chassis is a Dennis F21, powered by a Rolls Royce B80 8-cylinder petrol engine. The 125ft all-steel five-section ladder was constructed by Carl Metz of Germany and can be used as an external rescue staircase, as a water tower or as a crane. A centrifugal fire pump capable of delivering 500 gallons (2270 litre) per minute is also fitted to the vehicle.

The workshop/museum can be seen behind the fire engine.
