Barton is a former monastic grange, of Shaftesbury Abbey. The building in the foreground is the granary, with 15C features according to Nikolaus Pevsner, and listed Grade I. The farmhouse, also Grade I listed, is in the background. It has an array of pigeon holes, visible in this image.
