False Chanterelle in Round Wood near Wellhouse, Berkshire
Fungus Hygrophoropsis aurantiaca peeping out from a fallen branch.

Arguably edible, but some people get gastrointestinal symptoms from it, so probably best avoided. The true chanterelle is a uniform egg-yolk yellow (normally), while this specimen had a light yellow top. There are differences in the false gills too. Not badly poisonous like the other chanterelle look-alike, the jack-o'-lantern mushroom.
