Entrance to Kirkstall Forge
The demolition company's sign has been erected recently, and marks the end of this as an industrial site. Kirkstall Forge is one of the oldest industrial sites in Leeds, having been first occupied by the monks of Kirkstall Abbey in 1200 AD. It was in continuous use for metal working from the 18th century until 2003. The site is to be redeveloped for housing, hotels, offices etc.
