A 10-arch viaduct that carried the Penicuik Branch of the North British Railway over the River North Esk. The railway closed in 1967 and the track is now part of the Penicuik-Dalkeith footpath and cycleway. Seen from very near where Morley Sewell's photo of 5 years earlier was taken NT2561 : Firth viaduct near Auchendinny.
