Grand Union Canal: Bridge Number 115A
Grand Union Canal: Bridge Number 115A
Bridge Number 115A originally carried the trackbed of the former London & North Western Railway's Leighton Buzzard & Dunstable Branch over both the canal here and the adjacent River Ouzel out of sight to the right. The line was opened in 1848 but was a victim of Dr Beeching's cuts, closing in 1965. Today it carries a footpath and a "traffic-free cycle route" over the canal and river.
