An Albion single row potato planter
An Albion single row potato planter
Part of a display by a vintage preservation group with a theme of "Potatoes, from field to plate". featuring a range of machinery that often features on geograph as a rusty hedge row farm machinery relic.
The Albion brand of farm machinery from Leigh, Lancashire was a long running and famous manufacturer of many types of machine. The company was taken over by David Brown Tractors in 1955.
Opportunities for trapping fingers and loose clothing look a distinct possibility with the exposed meshing cogs. As with so many farm implements of the time operator comfort and foot rests are negligible.
