Davies Gates - Chirk Castle
Davies Gates - Chirk Castle
These gates are fabricated from cast and wrought iron and depict a mixture of heraldic details from the Myddelton Coats of Arms embellished with foliage, birds and flowers. They were built for the forecourt of the castle between 1712 and 1721, by the Bersham Foundry which was itself operated by the Davies brothers. Presently the National Trust is carrying out conservation work on the metalwork.
