Mountain road to Abergwesyn, Powys
The famous very scenic former drover's route between Tregaron and Abergwesyn is approaching the steep and tortuous descent (the Devil's Staircase) into Cwm Irfon. Leading to the right is the forestry road into Coed Nantyrhwch. Timber lorries cannot negotiate The Staircase, so have to go west down the steep but straighter route into Cwm Tywi, then southwards to leave the Tywi forest.
