The Albion Street side of the building is home to the offices of the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

The imposing ornate red sandstone building was built by the City Improvement Trust and has façades on Trongate. Albion Street and Bell Street. It is Category B Listed LinkExternal link .
City Improvement Trust

The City Improvement Trust was a body which was set up to improve the squalid living conditions that existed in many parts of Glasgow in the latter half of the nineteenth century.

Visits to Paris by the trustees influenced the adoption of the traditional tenement house style (typical of Baron Haussman LinkExternal link ) to rehouse many thousands of Glaswegians.
