Lighthouse at the end of Smeaton's Pier St. Ives
The white cast iron lighthouse, really more of a lookout and navigational aid for fishing boats, was built at the end of Smeaton's Pier when it was extended in the late Eighteenth Century. The original lookout, built by the eponymous John Smeaton, now occupies a spot halfway along the pier.
