TQ3303 : Site of Black Rock Swimming Pool
near to Kemp Town, Brighton And Hove, Great Britain

Site of Black Rock Swimming Pool
Built in 1935 during the craze that saw many other open air swimming pools being built around the shores of Britain the pool was popular into the 1970s before being allowed to be run down and finally demolished in 1979. See Link
for an aerial view. Since then planning schemes have come and gone and have included swimming pools, skating rinks, hotels and restaurants but still remains an eyesore next to the Marina. In the meantime the site has played host to sand sculptures, skateboarders and travellers. The no entry sign once marked the eastern exit of Madeira Drive but this was closed off in the 1970s.
