NT2072 : The Mackie Mausoleum

taken 4 years ago, near to Corstorphine, Edinburgh, Great Britain

The Mackie Mausoleum
The Mackie Mausoleum
On the northern side of the Corstorphine parish churchyard. The tablet to the right contains information relating to ten people who died between 1823 and 1896, three of whom were Thomas Mackies. Their details can be found at LinkExternal link [headstone no. 255]. A guinea was paid to the Poors Account for permission to erect the mausoleum by James Mackie [not sure which one - there are two on the tablet, one of whom drowned at sea when he was 19, so probably it was another one].
