Oil and Coal
Oil and Coal
Sister locomotives 'Blanche' and 'Linda', on the Ffestiniog Railway, demonstrating the differences between oil and coal-fired locomotives. I think that the coal exhaust looks far better. On her last day in service, before being converted back to coal-firing, this turned out to be the last trip for 'Blanche', which 'failed' further up the line. Frustrating for my host, who was rostered to drive the afternoon trip with this locomotive.

Seen during the Steam 150: '1863 and All That' event.
