SH7682 : Bishops Quarry

Bishops Quarry
Bishops Quarry
Well bedded limestones of the Carboniferous (Asbian to Brigantian) Cefn Mawr Limestone Formation outcrop at Bishop's Quarry, with a northerly view to the Summit Complex. Previously, the beds were known locally as the Bishop's Quarry Limestone Formation, but correlation across the region has assisted in bringing consistent naming to the various rock units. An area prone to rock-falls has been fenced off.
