Orme heathland
Orme heathland
The Great Orme is home to a "dry heath" of international importance, and dominated by Western Gorse and Bell Heather. It is an unexpected vegetation type on a calcareous (limestone) substrate. Wind turbines can be seen offshore through a gap in the hillocks.
