The name of the field according to Westdean's 1840 tithe map that is the southern portion of a former large field, the northern part has now reverted to managed marsh, see TQ5100 : Dickerman Brook (1). To the south lies TQ5100 : Ox Brook (1) whilst on the far side of the valley is Friston Forest, the gap visible marks the location of the entrance to one of the forest's car park and picnic sites.
