The Lizard: the old lifeboat station
The Lizard: the old lifeboat station
The lifeboat station was built in 1914 but was replaced by a new building in the 1960s, just under a mile away on the eastern side of the headland. The new site is suitable for launching in all weathers, unlike the position here which is very susceptible to adverse conditions.
