Grand Union Canal: Swing Bridge Number 125
Grand Union Canal: Swing Bridge Number 125
This swing bridge is one of very few left on the Grand Union Canal that is still working and left in position across the canal. It used to be a farmers' accommodation bridge enabling access to the fields on the east side of the canal from the farms at Seabrook. However, judging by satellite imagery, that function is not used any more, and its sole purpose now seems to be to maintain the public footpath route between Pitstone and Seabrook across the canal.
