Adventuress approaching The Swan under Canal Bridge, Radcot
Adventuress II is a 12-foot wide former coal barge, converted to carry passengers. The locks and bridges on the Thames up to Lechlade are wide enough and long enough to accommodate such a craft. The canal bridge in Radcot is one of three stone bridges carrying the A4095. It is the youngest, having been built in 1787 to cross a 'new cut' dug during construction of the Thames and Severn Canal.
