SZ8896 : Mouth of Pagham Harbour

taken 4 years ago, near to Pagham, West Sussex, Great Britain

Mouth of Pagham Harbour
Mouth of Pagham Harbour
The coastline does not much resemble that on the OS 1:25000 map now, the shingle spit on the right has grown eastwards and the channel in the foreground from the harbour has reached the first rock groyne to the east. The brisk flow out of the harbour on a falling tide is making white water over the still submerged groyne, whilst the majority of the flow is deflected south out to sea.
