SP7351 : Grand Union Canal: Blisworth Tunnel Air Shaft

taken 4 years ago, near to Stoke Bruerne, Northamptonshire, Great Britain

Grand Union Canal: Blisworth Tunnel Air Shaft
Grand Union Canal: Blisworth Tunnel Air Shaft
This is the tunnel air shaft about 820 metres north of the southern portal, and the one to the south of Buttermilk Hall Farm. Unlike all the other tunnel air shafts it is shown on all editions of the large scale Ordnance Survey mapping several metres away eastwards from the plan alignment of the tunnel. It can also be seen towards the right side of Philip's photo SP7351 : Grass airstrip by the Stoke Road.
