Opened in 1871 by the North British Railway on what is now the line from Glasgow Queen Street Low Level to Edinburgh via Bathgate. View west towards Bargeddie first station (closed. Not to be confused with the open Bargeddie station on the Carmyle line) and Glasgow.
Between 1871 and 1960, this station was known as Blairhill & Gartsherrie.
