Mickle Trafford Mill - south gearing
Mickle Trafford Mill - south gearing
This shows the wooden vertical shaft carrying iron wallower and great spur wheel. One of the stone nuts is seen and has wooden teeth. The footstep and tentering arrangement are relatively modern (compared to the wooden hurst frame). The underside of a set of stones can be seen and is the plaster finish of a set of French burr stones.
