SJ4570 : Mickle Trafford Mill - the north wheel

taken 4 years ago, near to Bridge Trafford, Cheshire, Great Britain

Mickle Trafford Mill - the north wheel
Mickle Trafford Mill - the north wheel
Unlike the south wheel, which has two sets of spokes and an iron shaft, this appears older with a wooden shaft, iron centre and wooden spokes carrying an iron segmental rim that is slotted for the paddles. The wheel is undershot.
Stairs and a fire escape have been constructed in the wheel house and over the bypass channel. A Trust is seeking to secure the future of this most interesting watermill.
