Wartime relics
In the foreground, now mounted on a display stand, are the remains of a rail bogie discovered in the sands here in 2010. It was once used to carry targets along a short track for aircraft gunners to practice firing on moving targets.
Beyond it is an observation hut, perhaps used by those who kept score of the gunners' accuracy.
