One of Thomas' Cousins?
One of Thomas' Cousins?
NCB locomotive No1 “Lord Roberts”, which is registered as a “Thomas”, delighted old and young alike at the October Steam Gala of the Bo’ness & Kinneil Railway. Built in 1899 by Neilson Reid in Glasgow, it was transferred to the National Coal Board when the industry was nationalised. It was presented to the Scottish Railway Preservation Society in 1968 and has given excellent service at Bo’ness. “Thomas” will be away for an overhaul during 2014.
