Arriving at Bo'ness
Arriving at Bo'ness
Locomotive 1744, a GNR N2 0-6-2T engine, viewed at the October Steam Gala of the Bo’ness & Kinneil Railway. Formerly used for commuter traffic at Kings Cross, this single remaining N2 has seen 90 years’ service, covering around 1.2 million miles. It belongs to the Great Central Railway, based at Loughborough. As there are no turning facilities at the other end of the line, locomotives have to travel tender-first back to Bo'ness.
