NS4984 : Remnants of a boundary

taken 5 years ago, near to Craighat, Stirling, Great Britain

Remnants of a boundary
Remnants of a boundary
This line of stones leads away from the edge of the woods for about 30 metres, and then ends abruptly. The area immediately to the left of this line used to be wooded, and the stones are presumably remnants of a wall marking the edge of the woods.

The boundary used to continue westwards, probably as a fence rather than a wall, through NS49748490 and NS49858489, to meet another patch of woodland. That course can still be discerned on satellite imagery.

The Campsie Hills are in the right background.
