Manchester Central Library
Manchester Central Library
The library was designed by E. Vincent Harris and constructed between 1930 and 1934. It takes the form of a neoclassical rotunda, with a Tuscan colonnade in Portland stone, low pitched leaded roof and a two-storey, five-bay Corinthian portico entrance. The library building is grade II* but is actually closed at the moment for refurbishment and expansion.
