Former Tramways Electricity Generating Station, Counterslip, Bristol
Impressively monumental, tiers of arched openings and a rank of round windows. Red brick with Bath stone dressings. By William Curtis Green, 1899. Grade II* listed.
Wartime bombing put paid to its life as a power station, after which it was used by a Courage Brewery whose site is now being developed as part of a large mixed-use scheme, Finzels Reach. However, since the photo was taken, the developer, HDG Mansur, has gone into receivership.
