The New Cut
The New Cut
Looking towards Gaol Ferry Bridge from Bedminster Bridge. The new cut was dug in the early 19th Century to divert the tidal Avon and allow the Floating Harbour to be enclosed. Taken at high tide on one of the highest tides of the year (an equinoctial spring tide).
