TQ1951 : Brockham lime works

near to Brockham, Surrey, Great Britain

Brockham lime works
Brockham lime works
Taken just inside the square above the large disused chalk pit which was excavated for nearby lime kilns. The white cliffs mark its western extremity. The Chart Downs, above Dorking, can be seen beyond. The dark shape to the left in the far distance is Leith Hill.

The neighbouring pits above Betchworth are now used as a land fill site.
