Overlooking St. Fraed's

A view across the Monnow valley above the small farm by St. Fraed's Well. The B4521 runs across the scene between the river and the woods on the other side of the valley. The English/Welsh border follows the Monnow river on its course down from Oldcastle to Rockfield, apart from the bend in the river at Skenfrith. Hence the hillside across the valley in this shot is also in Wales.
