NY9012 : Estate road north of A66
taken 10 years ago, near to Rey Cross [antiquity (non-Roman)], Durham, Great Britain
Estate road north of A66
Despite the apparently remote location this scene is within a kilometre of the A66 dual carriageway as it passes through the Stainmore Gap. The view is to the north along the estate road to the location named as North Ings, where there's a large sheepfold and sheds. Across the ditch beside the road can be seen a pole with a small 'cage' on top; the cage is over a gin trap, the intention being to trap stoats and perhaps weasels.
