Kayakers are always on the look out for rivers or even streams which no-one's paddled before, in the hope of bagging a first descent, so I was always going to peer into this one as I passed over on the road. The smaller streams are often dismissed as "ditches" by those who prefer well-documented and popular trips, but even tiny spate becks and burns can provide good fun if there's enough water and not too many obstacles. This one, however, I have to admit, is worse than a ditch - so much vegetation and fallen timber that I couldn't even see the water (though I could hear it), so I don't think I'll be bringing my boat here any time soon.
