The man-made spit and the dredger, early morning, off Teignmouth
A long spit of shingle has been formed from dredgings. It reaches out from the main beach parallel to the channel for shipping. The mouth of the River Teign, out of shot right, is continually dredged; even so, cargo vessels can only enter or leave the port at high tide.
In the foreground one man and his dog walk the beach.
