This is a two-level tomb from the 3rd millennium BC. It was discovered in 1898 when the Trumland Estate landowner and his wife decided to put a sheltered garden seat with sea views on the mound across to the island of Wyre. It was excavated then and there were skeletons inside. In the 1930s a later landowner Walter Grant gave it to the nation.
