NY9729 : Great Eggleshope Beck

taken 4 years ago, near to Middle End Plantn [forest or Wood], Durham, Great Britain

Great Eggleshope Beck
Great Eggleshope Beck
Great Eggleston Beck, though larger, is not as steep as Little Eggleshope Beck (the two flowing together to form Eggleston Burn 1.2 kilometre downstream from this point). It flows between some huge lead mining spoil tips, the ends of one set being seen in the distance, but others lie out of shot.
The small lump on the far horizon above the spoil tips is a large shooting hut, to which the track seen further left leads.
