Tree on Footpath
The footpath takes the form of a lane and, when walking the lane from the East north-east, the tree appears to form an obstruction. Closer in, however, the lane kinks around the tree and switches from one side of the parallel field boundary to the other at a field boundary that is at a right angle to the lane (shown on the right and indicated on the 1:25,000 scale OS map). This direction of view (towards the East north-east) was used to keep the sun behind the photographer.
