Torryburn Church
Torryburn Church, as seen today, was reconditioned in 1928, during the ministry of Revd. Wm. Pitcairn Craig, having been rebuilt in 1800 on the site of the original church, during the ministry of Revd. David Balfour. The earliest building on this site was a simple thatched-roof church, built in 1616. Before the reformation, the people of Torrie and Abercrombie (Crombie), worshipped in the 12th century church in Crombie Churchyard, at Windmill Brae. Those two old parishes were united towards the end of the 16th century. In 1946 a union took place between Newmills Free Church and Torryburn Church, with Revd. Thomas Webster, as minister.
There was a union of Torryburn Church, with Culross and High Valleyfield , in 1983, to form the present day Parish.
