SU1615 : Killed Trees, 2

Killed Trees, 2
Killed Trees, 2
These are the same trees featured in LinkExternal link but 6 years later. After the original ring barking in 2007 the trees weren't quick to die, so a chainsaw was used again to cut a groove in the trees, increasing the depth of the damage. Now the trees are dead and the winter gales have brought some of them down, this and an adjacent one across the boundary fence. A strange kind of forestry to my untrained mind. I asked the Estate management why so many trees had been ring barked and they assured me that it was a mistake by the tree surgeons.
