Catstones Ring
Catstones Ring
If you use a lot of imagination, you can see a bit of a ditch running up the middle foreground and a bit of a bank running from bottom right to the centre. In fact, under the bracken, the bank is a couple of feet high. This is part of the rather underwhelming scheduled ancient monument known as Catstones Ring, a rectilinear earthwork enclosure. It may be Iron Age, or then again it may be Roman. Anyone who knows is long dead.
